Hi, pals!

Because many people are interested in the ZOOs I visit, I decided to present the facility, which I visit very often, because I live near it. So I am trying to present ZOO Brno in serie of journals called ,,ZOO Brno Virtual tour".
And today? Today I am bringing you the last part of the whole serie!
So in this journal I will compare past and future of ZOO Brno, informing you about some future plans of this facility.

In future, ZOO Brno should be divided into four complex thematic parts – Beringia (this part is being built right now), Kalahari, Wallaceia and Caribbean.
But it will take many years to finish those plans.
But it does not mean, that ZOO Brno is not improving day by day!
I visit it very often, so I can see, that this ZOO is changing very quickly. This year, one of the absolutely new exhibits was finished in only 11 days!

But also some other changes are really needed and they will soon come.

Do you remembers, when I spoke about the shame of ZOO Brno? The worst exhibits belong to apes. But chimpanzees will be soon given new, modern and bigger enclosure. It is nice, because their current home is terrible.

Red fox, wild cats and owls inhabited small and boring cages. There was also awful, concrete and tiny cage, which used to be home for bears! All those enclosures have been already ruined. Instead of them, new, modern and huge complex of exhibits will be built – and this act will also mean finishing of the first complete thematic part of ZOO Brno – Beringia, which shows northern animals, such as arctic wolves, polar foxes, snowy owls, wolverines and Kamchatka brown bears.

There are some other plans for future:
- Finishing of planning of project of African village
- Finishing of planning of project of Moravian cottage
- Reconstruction of polar bears exhibit
- Finishing of planning of project of pavilion for MANATEES!!!!

It really shocked me, that this ZOO wants to keep manateas. Shocking, shocking!

In future, ZOO would like to keep for example those animals:
Lion, cheetah, bat-eared fox, snow leopard, Comodo dragon, walrus, seals, shark, penguin, red panda and much more :aww:

---

ZOO must deal also with some practical problems. Its current park provides places only for some 15 cars! Absolutely new parking-site is desperately needed. And the project is already finished, so building of the park should start soon and it will include new entrance and also huge building with the aquarium, which is supposed to be the biggest aguarium in the Czech republic with its 1 000 000 litres. It might be home for a shark.

Current state of the park-site (places for only 15 cars!)

ZOO also changed style of its info-boards. Older style was replaced by modern one and also design and whole idea are much better!

Old, a bit boring info-board

New info-boards are much more interesting!

And ZOO also have new and very wonderful guideposts! :aww:

New guideposts

You can see, that ZOO Brno is really improving.
Before some 5 years, I did not like this ZOO at all. It was a prison for animals. But since that time, all bad exhibits were ruined and animals were given new and really great exhibit, where they have a lot of spaces, interesting terrain and also chance to keep their privacy. During only few years, this ZOO became my favourite, because I really appreciate the fast and really amazing change.
I love this ZOO, it is my beloved place where I go when I need some relax. I also shared many wonderful moments with local animals...
Yeah, it is definitely my favourite park.
And this serie of journals is my way how to thank to the ZOO and how to support this facility  I am spreading the word! :aww:

Well... I think it is all for now :)
ZOO Brno Virtual Tour is over!
I had great time when I was preparing it for you and I hope that you enjoyed the posibility to visit one Czech ZOO throught my photos and journals :)
Next week I will post one, absolutely last journal about ZOO Brno virtual tour – I hope you do not mind

It sounds awesome. All these new things they're building will make the ZOO probably one of the best in the world. :D The plans are looknig very well and the animals they plan to keep are pretty rare in ZOOs. But manatees!? Wow! They're very rare in the wild and pretty sensible. Lots of care will be needed, but people will croud to see them. :D. Maybe one day I'll be able to come and visit this ZOO. :D
And of course I don't mind for another report. It's great to hear about such a wonderful ZOO.
