I hate my weak will so much, how comes that I can not kick myself to continue, especially when I see it IS possible? :/ nah, I am so angry at myself. Go, stupid Woxys! There are still 20 kilos of fat which wait to be removed.
Mhhhhhm, I really need to start, as even the current state makes me feel much happier than the state a year ago.
Sorry for talking about this issue a lot, it is not easy, although I have already managed to lose some 20 kilos. And now other 20 should go away! It is just hard, because yes, it is nice I lost so much, but I am still so terribly overweight

Bitten by a squirrel + funny ZOO Vienna - PHOTOSHi

I used my a bit higher (but still pathetically low) self-confidence to meet another dA member - this time it was *Shadow-and-Flame-86, lovely young scientist from Scottland, where she studies marine mammals! It was just perfect, she is very nice person, we had fun (at least me

). I am really glad we met and could chat a lot about her work, ZOOs and animals in general

What was the biggest attraction? Giant pandas? Wolves?
No! Those were squirrels

ZOO Vienna is totally full of wild but tame squirrels. And by full I mean that they are everywhere in a forest part of the ZOO! People feed them with nuts, so they come VERY close to you, they even run to humans, following them and begging

I was ready for this and I prepared a sack of wallnuts for me and *Shadow-and-Flame-86 to have some fun. It was amazing

The first snow came - it was very thin layer, much less than 1cm, so it did not survive the night, but it still pleased me

I think some of those artists created absolutely incredible work and they definitely deserve more attention.
Today, I will show you some of the deviations I have suggested (or plan to suggest) for DD, but which have not been noticed or accepted by admins, which made me really sad and disappointed. DA has some rules for featuring a deviation as a DD, it says that suggested artist should not have a DD yet, it should not be very famous artist and it should include some info about a subject in the descriptions. Those artists followed the rules, but their art has not

Strange dA people + ZOO in autumn - PHOTOSHi!
I got all scared and hysterical that I waisted all sunny autumn days so I have no chance to take any wolf photos with colourful background this year. So when the sun made it to shine through the clowds today, I ran to the ZOO to take some shots. Well, the leaves are still on the branches and nicely golden, so I have some autumn shots in stock again

the foxes and wolves are fluffy again, but both of those species were sleepy - I had to wait a lot before wolves decided to move a bit. You might say it is a deal of photographers, but it is something unusual, local wolves tend to have only short moments without activity. Both alpha and beta female seem to be very tired and thin, but at least they seem to have some grown fur

I hope they will manage to survive the winter, but it is really a sad sight. Atila, on the other side, is fluffy white pillow as usual, and again his own pups made him feel very uneasy. He is so cute.

I hate that thesis SO much...

I feel like total idiot, I somehow can not write it. Why?!

It is my the last attempt to complete it, if I do not finish it properly, I totally lose my chance to get my second Master degree. Which would be pretty embarassing, because not only I already have all the credits I need, I even passed the graduation exams! After so much work, it would be stupid to end without the title just because of inability to write stupid 80 pages.
Also, I wish USA a lucky hand when it comes to voting! It might be interesting, I will definitely watch US elections

interesting material for a student of political science. I do not mind to share my opinion - I would vote for Obama. But I do not feel like advocating my opinion, I have no problem with those whose attitude is different

At first, thank you for very interesting discusion under my last journal - although I did not reply to every comment, be sure I read every single one!

do not be afraid, I definitely do not judge USA and its citizens through some reality shows

here in the Czech republic we also have really stupid shows and so, I think it is a world epidemy

I always keep in mind that USA is huge country with a large scale of people of all the qualities

some of you said they are ashamed to be Americans - I do not think there is a reason for it, as your country has f.e. many good universities or scientists!
I had a bad day today. I got totally stressed (I can not say why - maybe because of my stupid diploma thesis?) and when I get stressed, I eat. Holy mother, I ate such a crap today, that I feel really guilty and if I did not feel a strong resistance against it, I would like to kick myself to threw it all away

A bit more than 1 month until Christmas - time to announce my stuff

I really think some of those might be nice gifts - especially when it comes to print/gifts, which are not only originals with animal photos, but also USEFUL! Last year, I used donated points to order some of my stuff from DA, because I wanted to know the stuff I sell. I got 6 mugs and I was amazed with quality - I use them on daily basis and they are so cool! And I got also a calendar - and again, I can say the calendar's quality made me really happy, photos are sharp, colours are vivid and the format of calender allows you to note your own stuff into it

So I am definitely not ashamed to offer my stuff - I believe it can really make people happy

Tiger drama in local ZOO + animals - PHOTOSHi people!
Once more sorry for low activity. Thesis, thesis. Thesis. Thesis. DIES.
Today a white tiger in Czech ZOO Liberec attacked a young guy (he was on practise, not a visitor), who was saved thanks to bravery of two female keepers who hit the cat with some bucket to get his attention. The tiger escaped from the exhibit, so three people, all of them injured by the tiger, stayed inside the cage. The tiger was shot with some drugs and went limp. Fortunately, this whole accident seems to have a happy end, injuries are not severe and the tiger has not been harmed. Just wow, huh... Drama!
Finally a feature for Kiriban winner and then some animal photos. Please keep your fingers crossed for me, so I can finish my thesis soon. Thank you!

Shame about fennecs + my favourite wolves - PHOTOSHi!
I went to my beloved ZOO Olomouc to photograph animals yesterday - I needed a break from the thesis writing.
I spent hour or maybe more with my favourite wolf subspecies - Iberian wolves. They were very active and even aggresive, snapping their jaws and snarrling a lot. One of them tried to catch a crazy rodent. It was fun and I got many photos for you

But the bad news - fennec fox got a new light in their enclosure. It is a red light and it TOTALLY does not allow you to photograph, because the specific light ruins the texture of the animal's fur and there is no chance to get any photo

I am sad about it, I loved this place for fennec photography

now it has been lost... in ZOO Dvur Kralove, they put those foxes into very dark indoor exhibit, so this place is also lost and in Prague, you never see them... Hm... I am a bit sad about it, I would miss those little guys

This weekend I spent in mountain and I visited one of my favourite ZOOs, Dvur Kralove nad Labem. I was a bit disappointed that they moved cheetahs (I did not see them at all), because this ZOO was very good for taking photos of them. They also moved fennec foxes from very photographer friendly enclosure which allowed the foxes to enjoy some sun light into a nocturnal indoor pavilion which is very dark and you can watch the foxes only from above, so I am afraid I lost this place for fennec photos

I also did not manage to take good photos of baby tigers and baby leopard although I tried a lot. It seems that my lens refuses to focuse, which scares me

I admit I could take some 70 000 photos with it, but... do not die, 55-250 IS!

I can not be without photography! It is probably time for better lens, but I can not see any fitting one for my Canon!

70-300 would be cool, but it is very expensive. 70-200 without IS might be nice too, but I am afraid of shorter lenght

I wish I could buy much better version of 55-250 or 55-300, but it does not exist. Nah...

My friend ~BlueFox-cz was the one who took me to the ZOO (thanks, pal) and we also had a special trip when we went to the forest in the night just with some flashlights as we wanted to find some foxes. We did not meet any, but thanks to the reflexion in their eyes, we found two deers! It was pretty amazing...

But I spent first day with walking, other day we also had a little walking trip... and after weekend, I have + 2 kilos! That is annoying.

oH NOES lens trouble is not good

I remember I thought my tamron 70-300 was not working right because it wasn't focusing good with t4i. But it's doing better now, maybe I yelled at it enough and now it wants to work

I love the new photos, always great stuff :3

I know it's frustrating when zoos don't accomodate photographers well. Some enclosures are near IMPOSSIBLE, ARG.
I was upset with Philly Zoo because TWICE I went there (near 3 hr trip) to see the new maned wolves they are supposed to have THIS month, but both times...still no wolves!

hmmm, strange about your lens, they don't normally give out unless you drop them or get them wet. the shutter limit is for the camera body, so the number of shots you've taken won't affect the lens...

sounds like a bad drift problem, unless you accidently flipped it onto manual focus mode without noticing

Can you send it to be serviced somewhere official near you? I have to send my 70-200 into nikon to be serviced once a year because the connection ring is dodgey after getting soaked by rain/snow/sea spray so many times >.< but after a service it works good as new for about 6 months

shame about the missed cubs and the fennec foxes moving, now I will never get a chance to shoot them there!
