Strange dA people + ZOO in autumn - PHOTOS

Journal Entry: Wed Oct 24, 2012, 4:29 PM

I got all scared and hysterical that I waisted all sunny autumn days so I have no chance to take any wolf photos with colourful background this year. So when the sun made it to shine through the clowds today, I ran to the ZOO to take some shots. Well, the leaves are still on the branches and nicely golden, so I have some autumn shots in stock again :D the foxes and wolves are fluffy again, but both of those species were sleepy - I had to wait a lot before wolves decided to move a bit. You might say it is a deal of photographers, but it is something unusual, local wolves tend to have only short moments without activity. Both alpha and beta female seem to be very tired and thin, but at least they seem to have some grown fur :( I hope they will manage to survive the winter, but it is really a sad sight. Atila, on the other side, is fluffy white pillow as usual, and again his own pups made him feel very uneasy. He is so cute.

The title: yup, there are some great persons on this site :XD: yesterday I met pretty funny art-thief. An adult women with husband and kids was posting stolen photos of everything: kids, domestic and wild animals... but she was also making up stories how it was her who took those photos and how difficult it was :XD: I knew those photos were stolen - not only some of those shots were obviously profesional, but she also posted three photos of obviously different cats, claimimg them all to be one animal called Daisy. Nooo :XD: as I hate liars (:P), I bothered to find original author and I also warned the thief. She was incredibly immature, posting several journals in the style "people are mean at me, and they are jealous that my photos are better than their's! I will post more, because it is my passion!" :noes: so I reported even more stolen shots from her gallery (which she again claimed to take) and she deactivated her account :XD:

Other wonder of humankind was a super mega hyper clever girl, who was very educated about wolves. She knew so much about wolves, that she had doubts that my friend Allerlei and one other famous dA wolf photographer really photograph wolves. She said those "wolves" are in fact coyotes and she was very determined to show those guys, that they really do not photograph wolves :XD: she finally apologized, fortunately :XD: it seems that even if you are super mega hyper wolf expert, you might not know that Eurasian wolves exist :XD:

ZOO Photos, taken today. BTW, if you look at one of the last photos, you might see a concrete building behind the branches. It is a shelter for Umca, male polar bear. Cora, the female, is probably pregnant. So the ZOO has to divide the male from a female to be sure mother has the peace she needs for successful birth and care. In history, the ZOO always moved Umca to other ZOO where he stayed until Cora rised the cubs (which happened once) or until the babies died. He did not like such traveling, so the ZOO decided to build this concrete pen to house him in the meantime. I do not like it :( it is so bare, boring... there is just a flat concrete floor and bare walls :( Umca is always bored there, you can see him lying :( there is no pool with water, no trunk, no stones... I hope that if Cora gives birth to healthy cubs, ZOO will move Umca to other ZOO as they did before. He definitely can not spend two years in such pit until the babies grow enough to leave the ZOO, so he would be able to join Cora again. Poor Umca :(

People who need to steal art always make wonder about some things, first thing: how can some people not notice some of those obviusly contradictions in some of those "stories" made up or the partially extrem differing in photoquality. second : why do they have to do this (i guess something only psychologists will eventualy get), i mean it's one thing to upload pictures to make them available to other people (did this my self sometimes e.g. when you need an url for a picture wich uploadserver isn't permanent available or has been removed) but claiming that this work is your own is prety near to a real crime. normaly you should be told this in school claimng someones work as your own is wrong and i bet there are photographers who could in some cases insist on their copyright and sue you (and if you have bad luck this gets expensive) or getting 'just' banned from the community you uploaded the pics at - but comparing the risk to the little popularity or satisfaction you can get .... ^^ i won't get it.

either way - love your autumn shots =) - in general its an awesome season, if its not extremly rainy :D

greetings from ger. =)

lol at eurasian wolves not existing in the mind of an 'expert' :giggle:

seriously!? even if you didn't know that off the top of your head, a simple google search would correct you straight away... why do people do that and pick fights over it!

lovely autumn shots =) this is the first time in 4 years that I've not been on a seal island during autumn, I've really missed all the colours of the leaves as they change.

aw no poor Umca, I really hope, they move him, too! He really cannot be there all the time. But good luck to Cora this time..

People are immature when caught in an act that is less than honorable.
