Guilty and adorable baby animals - PHOTOS

Journal Entry: Thu Oct 18, 2012, 3:35 PM

Hi!

At first, thank you for very interesting discusion under my last journal - although I did not reply to every comment, be sure I read every single one! do not be afraid, I definitely do not judge USA and its citizens through some reality shows ;) here in the Czech republic we also have really stupid shows and so, I think it is a world epidemy :XD: I always keep in mind that USA is huge country with a large scale of people of all the qualities :D some of you said they are ashamed to be Americans - I do not think there is a reason for it, as your country has f.e. many good universities or scientists!

I had a bad day today. I got totally stressed (I can not say why - maybe because of my stupid diploma thesis?) and when I get stressed, I eat. Holy mother, I ate such a crap today, that I feel really guilty and if I did not feel a strong resistance against it, I would like to kick myself to threw it all away  I ate some caramel cream I prepared for a cake I made, then I ate THREE AND HALF pieces of that very fatty cake, then I ate some bacon, had a glass of burčák and finally, knowing I already totally screwed it, I ate at least five pieces of chocolate. HOW COULD I?! :frustrated: for last two months, I am still between 77,5 - 79,5 Kg (the scale is able to show me both of those extremes during one day, so I think the real weight is some 78,5), and in fact I am not doing much to improve that. Such a shame! Stupid Woxys, go :/ that is really bad :/

I am also a bit disappointed that DA stuff has not given a DD to any fantastic photo I suggested :( I tried to find authors who passed all the criteriums of DA, so those were less-known authors who had totally incredible but unnoticed stuff without having a single DD... :( well, I hope those authors might got DD in future. Anyway, you can check some newly suggested DDs in my journal section ;)

Here comes promised feature for kiriban's winner

I might have the same problem? :giggle: I do not know, maybe my photos do not deserve DD :D but I am sad that they do not accept my suggestions...

It's all very political, and DD's never seem to have watermarks or signatures.

come on Thrumyeye gets a DD every six months and she does use signatures, of course - if she did not, everybody would steal her work..

It's ok as far as I am concerned. I like faving the unknown people. A DD is great but these days it is more about who you know, and that is how art really is anyway. It is the networking and politics.

Let me start off by saying you have a very open-minded attitude when it comes to people. Good for you! I am sorry to hear you had a bad day. :petting::hug: As for the way you dealt with your stress, don't feel guilty. We all have our own, unique way of dealing with stress. I hope your weekend is less stressful and goes by smoothly.

Hmm, maybe you could drink grapefruit juice whenever you feel hungry for junk food, it helped take my father off his habit of smoking.

Tv shows are not the only reason I'm ashamed to be American.
See: gay marriage, monopolies, obesity, indigenous people, viral news stories, the media's inclination toward crazy, impact on South and Latin America, bigotry, intolerance, etc....

Is there a way to get yourself to do something else in stress? Sometimes I avoid the sugary foods when stressed by just going for a walk instead. Or even just napping.

Feel free to ignore the fat American in the corner:

It is interesting that you are kinder to Americans than I am (and I am one ) But I would say that any weight you take after eating (I am talking about the first meal of the day) will probably be high because you have eaten and not fully digested (besides that isn't that bad)

I understand the whole stress = EAT thing; I'm the same way, usually. Right now I'm doing the opposite! I'm so stressed, I can't eat!

Also, all the baby animals are so darn cute!!! :iconnfwtfplz: I love the Caracal, Dolphin, Wolf, and Lion photos the most

Oh what a cuteness over load!!
I understand your struggle and feel for you, i put on over 20kg when i was pregnant, i have such thin bones that now i just cant look at myself in the mirror and its depressing, and everytime my partner tells me i need to loose weight it makes me put more on (such a vicsious cycle) i keep using my pregnancy as an excuse but truth is my son just turned 4.... so no its more that i cant get motivated and i keep falling for the stressful situations also, cheese did me in and so does pasta, but i also share a love of chocolate... on a good note, when i joined a ladies gym we all kept food diaries and learnt how to monitor our carb, fat, and protein intake, it was pretty simple once we got the hang of it, i think it was less then 20 grams of fat a day, and about 60-80 grams of protein (which was hard to get enough protein without getting too much fat, but focusing on healthy fats such as omega fatty acids help the balance).... i cant remember the carb intake but i know i was loosing weight when i kept my food diary and it also helped me too drink enough water (if you drink between 6 and 8 glasses every single day you will aid in the reduction of fluid retention and loose a couple of kilos too) another tip was to have olive oil and apple cider vinegar every day (the apple cider vinegar helps the body cut down/ break down fat)

I can understand your struggle with weight. I've been trying to lose a few pounds myself, but everytime I do lose some, I manage to gain it back within a few weeks :/. Chocolate is just too big of a temptation . I wish you luck

Such cute baby animals! Aww, honey, don't beat yourself up because stress made you go off of your diet! As a stress eater I sympathize! Just remember that one bad day will not undo all of your good hard work if you go back to your program tomorrow.

Ah, yes, I agree that all countries have their own versions of stupid reality or game shows. I've seen some really goofy Japanese game shows and some very odd European talent shows which I don't understand at all! I'm certainly not ashamed to be American, but I've often wondered why so many stupid TV programs are sent overseas when we actually have some good ones. Emphasis on "some." I really don't watch television that much--I prefer to read! :iconreadingplz:
