I used my a bit higher (but still pathetically low) self-confidence to meet another dA member - this time it was *
Shadow-and-Flame-86, lovely young scientist from Scottland, where she studies marine mammals! It was just perfect, she is very nice person, we had fun (at least me
). I am really glad we met and could chat a lot about her work, ZOOs and animals in general
What was the biggest attraction? Giant pandas? Wolves?
No! Those were squirrels
ZOO Vienna is totally full of wild but tame squirrels. And by full I mean that they are everywhere in a forest part of the ZOO! People feed them with nuts, so they come VERY close to you, they even run to humans, following them and begging
I was ready for this and I prepared a sack of wallnuts for me and *
Shadow-and-Flame-86 to have some fun. It was amazing
one squirrel bit me when she took a nut from my fingers - I was rude to hold it too tightly, I think XD other squirrel climbed me chest, other one my bag and I got one on my head!
Also, wild great tits are tame too, we just put some nuts on our palms and birdies came, sitting on our hands, getting nuts from us
that was so sweet
The weather was bad for photos, so I have only some new red panda shots - but , squirrels and birdies were such fun!

haha, from some 5500 points, I have 500 left now 
two more days and it would kill me 
but yeah, I will buy it, I think. I definitely visit this ZOO more often than just six times a year 
I had an amazing time too! It was so much fun with all the 'wild' animals coming up to you, I'd never done anything like that before so its was one of the highlights for me too ^-^

they have some interesting species, but: wolves are under trees (terrible light for photos), jaguars (very dark exhibit and jaguars do not pose at all), tigers (but there are many people around the only small viewing window), lions (but there is fence in the background), giant pandas (but they usually do not pose), humming birds (but they keep themselves far from people). They have also aquariums, but they keep the species I do not love that much.
And some exhibits are REALLY small - for example exhibit for giraffes is not acceptable at all in my eyes.
So yeah, interesting ZOO, but in my eyes, it is far worse place for a photo visit than almost any Czech ZOO... and that's also why I loved wild squirrels so much ;D
