Location: Kalahari Desert in Botswana and in South Africa
Size: 35 cm long body + 25 cm long tail weight: 0, 95 kg
Diet: instect, spiders, snakes, lizards, rodents, plants
Conservation status: Least Concern
Interesting facts: meercats lives in groups – colonies of meercarts have 20-30 members | Only dominate pair can mate. Dominant female gives birth to 2-5 babies and she becomes pregnant soon again, so other female takes care of the cubs | colonies of meercats have | during the group’s activities, one meercat is always guarding the others, standing on some higher place to spot predators
