it is difficult to judge which species of an eagle is the largest one, but harpy eagle is definitely among the three largest species |
harpy eagle hunts its prey during the fligh – the bird flies through the forest, taking the animals right from the branch. Harpy eagle can bear amazingly heavy prey in its claws |
the patents prepare the nest only once in three years. The female lays two eggs, but eagles usually rise only one baby, who is fed by patents for more than a year |
Harpy eagles are large and dangerous birds - there was at least one case of a ZOO keeper killed by this eagle!
