New king of the zoo by woxys New king of the zoo by woxys
Arjuna, young male Javan leopard from ZOO Prague, Czech republic.

Arjuna has a crazy life: he is very young, as he was born in 2012 in ZOO Berlin in Germany. Then he moved to ZOO Prague, which became the second facility (after two parks in Berlin) outside of Asia which keeps this amazing and very rare species of a leopard. After the moving, Arjuna was shy and before he could get used to his new home, the ZOO was hit by tho flood. Arjuna's new home was damaged, so he had to move to ZOO Olomouc. After few weeks, I visited Olomouc to see him, only to read "Arjuna is back in Prague" Facebook post, while I was sitting in ZOO Olomouc :XD: yeah, irony :XD: but last week I went to ZOO Prague and I finally saw him. He is incredibly wonderful!

Javan leopards is one of the smallest subspecies of a leopard. They are also very rare with only some 100 individuals in the wild :( this cat often has a melanistic form, which means that some of the leopards are yellow, other ones might be black!

Thank you for your comments and faves

Name: Javan leopard (Panthera pardus melas)
Location: Java (Indonesia)
Diet: deers, monkeys, boards...
Conservation status: Critically Endangered - facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild
Interesting facts: they often exist in black form | Amur leopard is one of the smallest from all leopard subspecies | they are kept only in Indonesian ZOOs, in Berlin and in ZOO Prague |

leopards are an interesting animal, one of my favorites, but their shape and slim bodies makes them somewhat terrifying to look directly at. Especially if they're looking back at you.

Very nice photo and great to see you're bringing attention to this very endangered animal!
You have two small mistakes in the 'Info about the animal' section. Their diet most certainly includes 'boars', not 'boards'. And you have Amur leopard mentioned in the section.

Arjuna is among the rarest animals kept in the Czech republic at the moment.
Sadly, Javan leopards don't get as much attention as their bigger brothers Amur leopards. There is a campaign going on for several years already to save Amur leopards (a lot of ZOOs have Amur leopards and to my knowledge China and Russia are trying to make sure the Amur leopard does not become extinct in their countries) but Javan leopards are in urgent need of help too as there is possibly only a hundred of them left on Java (precise number is not known as far as I know) which is the most crowded island in the world and conflicts between people and leopards are sadly not rare there. If anyone wants to help Javan leopards in some way, you can, for example, have a look here…

Keep up the good work woxys!

What you can't see is the kid outside the enclosure thats sticking their tongue out at him.

He is beautiful, those eyes are just amazing, I thought he was a female at first  because of his frame. But what a handsome young boy he is.
