Never forgotten by woxys Never forgotten by woxys
This evening I clearly got into sentimental mood and all of sudden, I almost painfully missed Atila, alpha wolf from Zoo Brno. I can not believe this incredible fluffy dummy is gone for FIVE years :( I must say I've never managed to find new joy from Zoo Brno after his death. Something simply changed and I only rarely visit the facility, although I live very close to it. Look at that stupid, yet so wonderful face of a wolf with unique character, who at least fathered and nicely treated many puppies. I miss you, my sweet beloved Atila!

The colours in this are wonderful, particularly the way his eyes match the leaves in the background.

Oh, so sad. He looks so sweet and everything. Atila will live on through his pups though.

Beautiful photo!  I was saddened by his death, as well, even though I didn't know him personally - I felt like I knew him, though, from your photographs, which, in turn, I was inspired to do (and still am, actually) paintings referenced from.  At least his memory lives on in your photos and my paintings.

Even if it is an old photo, and despite that particular wolf being gone, it is still a wonderful picture.
Can't remember if this was the one you had let me use or if it was another one, but just like the
Atila, the wolf I played is no more as well. But here is hoping for happier days!!

I think it partly stays, partly it is moved to other zoos, the exhibit is divided into two parts (AWFUL!!!), they got new alpha male... I do not know how it works now :(

That fairly sucks.  Wolves don't handle losing an alpha well anyways, then to go and separate them?  That's a good way to force euthanization...

yes, wolves got very ill after Atila died. But there is a pack wih alpha separated from some new group of 4 wolves, who would be probably moved later. The thruth is that only mesh fence devides them so they can see and touch and smell each other.

Still pretty sad.  Even if you keep them in a pen you should treat wild animals like they're wild and let them do what's best for them... They have instincts that help them out, and humans barely can touch the surface of what those do.

I am not sure if they are still separated to be honest...
