Making debut

Baby male Barbary lion for ~amrodel as a late present and also an attempt to attract her to visit this ZOO with me


ZOO visits might prepare nice surprise for you - I went to the pavilion of big cats and I immediately saw some additional pen in front of the lion's enclosure. I got all excited - it usually means the big cats have babies and ZOO does not want the visitors to get too close to the glass wall of the exhibit. And it was true, two baby lions have not been even announced officially yet! I waited two hours, but lions got out some 5 minutes before I HAD TO leave to catch a bus more over, baby showed himself only for few second and in the darkest part of the exhibit, where there were many reflexions. So although the quality is very bad, I am still happy I could get this
This baby is a son of Šimon and famous lioness Lily - and a sibling of Mark and Éta.

Location: FORMERLY North Africa from Morocco to Egypt, now only ZOOs
Size: 280 cm long body + 90 cm tail (male) weight: 295 kg (male)
Diet: carnivora
Conservation status: Exctinct in the wild
Interesting facts: Barbery lion is exctinc species, or at least exctinct in the wild | the only Barbary lions live in ZOOs – they are descendats of the Barbaby lions from Marocan menagerie.
