Juvenile Barbary lions (Panthera leo leo, Lev berbersky) Mark and Éta and their father Šimon from ZOO Olomouc, Czech republic.
Story of the title: the title is not fair - in fact, Šimon is awesome and very tolerant father. Mark and Éta are first babies of him and his mate Lilly and both adult lions were the best parents! Šimon protected whole the family and he let his babies use his tail as a toy and his body as a pillow. I love Šimon, he is great! Even after I snapped this, he started cuddling with Mark by the way, it is often said that animals should never be hand-rised by people, because then they are not able to live real life of an animal, they are not able to mate and care for babies. But Lilly was a star of Ireland, because she was hand-rised by her keeper. And still she was able to mate with Šimon and they both because fantastic parents for their first litter of cubs, although it is not usual even for first-time mothers who were rised naturally by their animal parents.
For , because he loves Barbary lions

I heard that the Barbary lion is extinct. And that these Barbary lions in the zoo aren't pure breed Barbary lions. But a hybrid of other lion species. Confused
It's a very difficult genetic mess to untangle. There are some (maybe, sorta) genetic markers that appear unique to the Barbary Lion as a subspecies of the more well-known (and definitely not extinct) African lion. As far as I know, only mitochondrial DNA factors have been found to be unique to the Barbary lion, which means even if a specimen has those traits, it only proves Barbary heritage through the mother's side (as only females can pass on mitochondrial DNA). If the test comes back negative, it is unknown whether the lion is even partially Barbary, as the male lineage can't be tested for mitochondrial DNA.
That being said, there isn't any significant genetic difference between an African lion and a Barbary lion. It used to be believed that there were external morphological differences (namely, a lighter mane), but it's been since proved that temperature variations affect mane color, not DNA or 'breed.' Northern and Sub-Saharan lion subspecies branched off about 118,000 years ago as the populations dispersed through Africa and into Europe and Asia. That's not particularly long in terms of evolution timelines.

Sesshomaru:"Hn. What is it?"
Me:"I love you!" *^^*
Sesshomaru: O.O
It looks like they are rehearsing for a choir...
