INFO ABOUT THE ANIMAL:

Name: Amur leopard (Panthera pardus orientalis)
Location: forests of Eastern Asia
Size: 1.9 m long body + 95 cm lond tail, 80 cm high weight: 60 kg
Diet: roe and sika deer, hares
Conservation status: Critically Endangered - facing an extremely high risk of extinction in the wild
Interesting facts: there are ONLY some 30 (THIRTY!!!) Amur leopards in the wild! | Amur leopard is the biggest from all leopard subspecies | Amur leopards have blue eyes | only female takes care of the cubs | in the wild, leopards live for 10-15 years, but they can live 20 years in captivity
ZOO: There are only 17 pureblooded Amur leopards in the World’s ZOOs – and 5 of them live in ZOO Prague in the Czech republic. 4 Czech ZOOs keep Amur leopards (Prague, Usti, Olomouc and Decin)

I've never heard of a Amur Leopard! O.o :^; poor guy is rare indeed! I hope this beautiful creature doesn't go extinct like the Thylacine!

I don't understand the stories that make the news are never about things like this. People need to be more aware of things like this and help before its too late. If we mess up the world, we should at least be responsible for some of the damage we cause. We shouldn't just allow species like the Amur leopards to slip away without trying our absolute hardest to save them. I just pray that there will be a miracle that will save these gorgeous animals.

It was the Chinese and the Russians who had driven the number down to THIRTY! Mostly it was the Chinese because of their retarded belief that certain animal body parts are essentials in their traditional useless medicine. Siberian tigers are also their victims!!!

Even today, when you travel to the northeastern part of China, you can pay off Chinese officials and go TIGER HUNTING!!! Of course it's not as easy as it sounds. You have to talk to the right person and you only have one chance. I shot a video in a hidden camera while posing as an poacher and paying off some Chinese officials. Once My friend is done with the subs, I will upload it to Youtube.
