INFO ABOUT THE ANIMAL:

Name: Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus)
Location: near rivers in Brazilian / Amazonian rainforests
Size: 100 cm long body, 140 cm wingspan weight: 2 kg
Diet: fruit, nuts, coconuts, seeds, but also small animals
Conservation status: Endangered
Interesting facts: Hyacinth macaw is the biggest parrot on Earth | hyacinth macaw can live 80 years! | those parrots live in pairs or in small groups. They usually have two or three babies and parents care for them for five months | the amazing colour of their body almost killed those amazing and wonderful macaws. Humans were hunting hyacinth macaws to sell them, as many collectors were ready to pay crazy amounts of money just to gain one of these parrots. Fortunately, some special program was started and now native people gain more money, when they show Hyacinth macaws to tourists in the nature, so they have no reason to catch and sell those magical birds :nod:

Lol, funny and cute! Parrots are hilarious. I met a very noisy one at a place called Birdworld in my country, and another smaller one which wouldn't let me stroke him at first (it just laughed at me) but then he let me stroke his feathers. He was just as adorable as the one in your photo. :heart: I've even seen some parakeets in my garden recently. Go birds!
