Name: Pallas's Cat (Otocolobus manul) Location: Asia: from Caspian sea to Mongolia Size: 60 cm long body and 30 cm long tail weight: 3,4 – 5 Kg Diet: pikas, rodents, birds Conservation status: Near Threatened Interesting facts: robust body, short legs, long whiskers and very long thick fur are typical for manuls | Pallas’s cats are nocturnal predators | Manuls can be found on deserts, steppe climate and mountains between heights of 1,000 and 4,000 metres | mother gives birth to 2-6 kittens. They are independent after only two months! | they were hunted for their fur, which is illegal now. But people poison pikas, who are considered a pest – manuls then eat poisoned pikas and die
